• Eightieth Anniversary of the creation of the Cuban Young Catholics

  On February 11th of 1928, on Brother Victorino De La Salle own initiative, took place in La Habana the creation of the Cuban Young Catholics - the Cuban most important lay movement in the Island - that was for decades an efficient way of getting more participation of the faithful in the work of the Church.
  
  In San Juan de Puerto Rico, Miami and Madrid, it will take place different celebrations to commemorate the eightieth anniversary, organized by the old "federated".

  Dear federated
  
  I have received the program you have prepared to celebrate with dignity the 18th anniversary of the foundation of the Cuban Catholic Action. Thank you very much.
  
  I am glad with you and I send you my congratulations in this lovely circumstances that unit you, one more time, in the unforgettable memory of Brother Victorino.
  
  From the heaven, he is looking at you, happy because the membership to these organizations continues the human and spiritual way of their members. Your perseverance, your enthusiasm and your organization show that you have well understood what he saw with the foundation of these organizations "... which are not a fraternity, neither a order or a political party, but an activity that should carry to the "federated" a correspondence between the learnt ideals at parish churchs or at Catholic schools and the practical behaviour".
  
  From the distance, where I am in this moment, (De La Reunion Island), I wish you a complete success in all the celebrations you have planned.
